IGLA Talks Series: History Of Out To Swim & Early Days Of Gay and Lesbian Sports

June 27, 2023 @ 6:00 pm - 10:30 pm

Event Series Event Series (See All)

Join us for an engaging evening at Queer Britain as we celebrate 30 years of Out To Swim, the UK’s largest LGBTQ+ aquatics club.

During the event, we will hear from the founding and long-time members of Out To Swim, who will share their stories and experiences, and shed light on the club’s history and journey. You’ll get the chance to explore the roots of the club’s inception, the LGBTQ+ sports movement, and gain insights into its impact on the LGBTQ+ community.

The event will conclude with a drinks reception, providing an opportunity to mingle and network while enjoying exclusive access to Queer Britain’s collection at the UK’s first dedicated LGBTQ+ museum.

Whether you are a member of the LGBTQ+ community, an ally, or simply interested in the history of the sports movement, this event is a must-attend. Don’t miss the chance to celebrate Out To Swim’s 30 years of inclusivity and the impact it has had on the LGBTQ+ community.
